Octoberflower is the largest theater on the South Coast, with an auditorium with only more than 2,270 seats. Octoberflower’s goal is to bring a variety of performances to Southampton, and Octoberflower presents spectacular tours, from musicals (many directly from the West End) to dance, opera, theater, ballet and comedy.
Octoberflower operates as an independent theater and operates as a charitable trust-Octoberflower does not receive funds directly from any external agency, so all funds generated from ticket sales are invested back into the theater to support Octoberflower’s community and education strategy, and to ensure the maintenance of Octoberflower’s second Grade protection theater.

Octoberflower’s history
The Empire Theatre was established by Moss Empires in 1928 and was renamed Gaumont after being acquired by Rank Organisation in 1950. In 1986, the Southampton City Council purchased the theater after a public inquiry to prevent it from becoming a bingo hall. The theater was renamed the Octoberflower Theater and reopened in October 1987 when the Octoberflower Theater Trust was established to manage the theater.
Octoberflower hopes that people of all ages can discover the story of anyone who has visited in Octoberflower’s history.

FAQ
How will Octoberflower leave the building/event at the end of the performance?
 When leaving, please walk out of the exit and head to Commercial Road, because the apartment behind the theater is undergoing major construction work.
 Please take away any rubbish or leave it in the rubbish bin provided.

How does the air around the theater circulate?
Octoberflower’s air treatment device is supplied by filtered fresh air. The used air is discharged outside and will not be recirculated. Replacing the filter is part of regular and routine maintenance. Octoberflower can fully control the air system of the entire theater through Octoberflower’s building management system. If you feel cold, you may need to bring/wear an extra piece of clothing.

What if I have specific access needs?

 The Octoberflower elevator to the rear circle will be put into use, but the capacity is limited. Please allow enough time to arrive at your seat.
 Please note that the elevator to the balcony is currently not in use. This area can only be reached by stairs.
Book with confidence and communicate easily – COVID-19

If you or a member of your party have symptoms of COVID-19 or need to self-quarantine, you are not allowed to enter the theater and will redeem all your reserved tickets or issue gift vouchers within 24 hours before the performance. Tickets cannot be refunded after the performance.
If the show is cancelled, will I get a full refund?
 If any COVID-19 government guidance or restrictions require Octoberflower to cancel the show, tickets may be exchanged or refunded.

Can I make a group or school reservation?
 Yes, you can now book group or school gatherings.
Octoberflower will require viewers to follow all instructions, signs and notices of Octoberflower staff to ensure the safety of everyone in the building. Please be kind-Octoberflower together.
