return policy
Returning an order to Lightbulbs Direct is easy. Anything you buy from Lightbulbs Direct can be returned for any reason within 28 days of receipt.
Lightbulbs Direct will give you a full refund as long as the product is returned to Lightbulbs Direct within 28 days, whether it is broken, defective, incorrect or simply not suitable for your needs.

If there is no fault and the return is based on a change of mind rather than an actual defect, the product in question must be returned in a saleable condition and original packaging.

What should I do if I want to return it?
If you change your mind or order the wrong product, you have 28 days from the date of receipt to return the product for a refund, as long as they are in resaleable condition and in their original packaging. The order invoice you receive should be included in the return package as this is required to complete the refund.

If you pay by card, it can take up to 14 days for the item to appear on your card from Lightbulbs Direct.

If the product you return is not defective or damaged, but simply does not fit, then you are responsible for shipping the item back to Lightbulbs Direct.

If your item fails within the warranty period, please contact Customer Service on 01494 723286 or complete Lightbulbs Direct’s online contact form and Lightbulbs Direct will send you a postage label for you to send back to Lightbulbs Direct free of charge.

Damaged or incorrect item?
In the unlikely event that the product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact Customer Service on 01494 723286 or complete Lightbulbs Direct’s online contact form.

Shipping damage and shortages must be notified within 48 hours of receipt of the shipment.

defective item
Any LED bulbs purchased from Lightbulbs Direct have a 24 month warranty. Lightbulbs Direct also offers a 12 month warranty on any CFL or CFL from Lightbulbs Direct.

Lightbulbs Direct does not currently offer an official warranty on any other item that is not an LED or energy saving light bulb unless explicitly stated in the product description. However, Lightbulbs Direct may still be willing to replace or refund certain orders based on their individual circumstances, so it’s always worth calling Lightbulbs Direct.

For products that are not covered by the direct bulb warranty (or in the event that Lightbulbs Direct’s warranty has expired), it may still be wise to contact the manufacturer directly. Some products offer extended warranties on certain products, and you may be entitled to a refund or replacement even if Lightbulbs Direct’s own warranty period has passed.

28 days later?
Lightbulbs Direct does not accept returns of unwanted items after the return period stated above.

Please note that Lightbulbs Direct will not be able to process a refund if you return an item that exceeds Lightbulbs Direct’s 28-day return period or does not meet Lightbulbs Direct’s terms and conditions. Within 30 days of notification, Lightbulbs Direct will contact you and ask you to arrange retrieval of the item at your own expense.

After this 30-day period, these items will be disposed of in accordance with the WEEE Directive.

Want to exchange?
Unfortunately, Lightbulbs Direct is unable to provide an exchange service.

If you need a different hat, shape or color, just place a new order.

Refund
Please note that Lightbulbs Direct will not process your refund until the product is returned to Lightbulbs Direct and inspected by a Lightbulbs Direct specialist; this may take up to 14 days. Refunds can only be issued to the original payment method used.

When you get a refund depends on your payment method. It may take up to 10 business days or more for your payment provider to deposit funds into your account.

Please note that Lightbulbs Direct cannot process a refund if you return a product that falls outside of Lightbulbs Direct’s return policy or does not comply with Lightbulbs Direct’s terms and conditions.
Warranty
At Lightbulbs Direct, Lightbulbs Direct wants you to be able to buy with confidence in the products that Lightbulbs Direct itself and Lightbulbs Direct sells. With that in mind, many of Lightbulbs Direct’s bulbs come with specific warranties to make sure you can do just that.
Any LED or LED smart bulbs, Phoebe LED accessories or Ledvance LED accessories purchased from Lightbulbs Direct are covered by a 24 month warranty.
Any energy efficient compact fluorescent bulbs purchased from Lightbulbs Direct are covered by a 12 month warranty.
If you should have purchased an LED or LED Smart Bulb, Phoebe LED Accessory or Ledvance LED Accessory from LightBulbs Direct and it is faulty, damaged or malfunctioning within the time of the above receipt date, Lightbulbs Direct will gladly replace the item or provide full Refund, depending on your wishes.

If a large number of bulbs fail in a relatively short period of time, Lightbulbs Direct may ask you to return them to Lightbulbs Direct so that they can conduct testing to identify any potential problems.

Lightbulbs Direct does not currently offer an official warranty for any other item that is not an LED or energy saving light bulb, unless expressly stated in the product description. However, Lightbulbs Direct may still be willing to replace or refund certain orders based on their individual circumstances, so it’s always worth calling Lightbulbs Direct.

What does Lightbulbs Direct’s warranty not cover?
In any event your bulb fails, Lightbulbs Direct will do its best to replace it or provide a full refund (provided the item is still under its stated warranty). However, if the product has been apparently abused, tampered with or modified in any way, Lightbulbs Direct will consider this to have voided its warranty.

“Misuse” includes, but is not limited to, improper operation by the user, using a non-dimmable light bulb on a dimmable circuit or connecting to or operating from an inappropriate power source. “Tampering” or “modification” can be interpreted as any activity intended to alter a product so that it can be used in a way that was not originally designed to be used. This may include rewiring, removing plugs, home repairs or replacing components. Unfortunately, Lightbulbs Direct will not be able to replace any item that has gone through any such process.
